Amazing Mexican Axolotl May Help Amputees

Recent discoveries could have far reaching benefits for mankind. An odd looking Mexican salamander with amazing abilities to renew its own organs, limbs, spinal cord and even brain after damage, has been found.

It is thought that understanding this process may one day help human amputees to do a similar thing. Genetic testing is underway in order to try to isolate whatever it is that gives this strange creature this very special ability.

The 6 inch long axolotl, also known as a ‘water monster,’ was found in the polluted canals of Mexico City.
